It could be that I have no experience with Red Velvet cake but with this recipe the cake was much to heavy. The Icing was bland and honestly tasted like flour. Overall the cake was nothing special. However I am willing to try it again just to make sure it was not my own fault.

Steps to make Red Velvet Cake:
  1. Sieve the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  2. Now cream the butter till soft. Now add powder sugar part by part, so that mixture will be light and fluffy
  3. Now add egg and vanilla essence. Mix it well.
  4. In a bowl mix buttermilk and colour.
  5. Now fold the flour mixture and buttermilk into the creamed butter.
  6. In a bowl take vinegar and soda. Mix it. And add to the batter.
  7. Now pour the mixture into the tin and bake it at 180℃ for 15to 20 min, or till cake cooked properly.
  8. Remove and cool it.
  9. Microwave the chocolate, till it melts. Remove it.fill it into a piping bag. Take butter paper, and make the desired design. Apply it on the cake. Cake is ready.

Overall the cake was nothing special. However I am willing to try it again just to make sure it was not my own fault. In a large bowl using a hand mixer (or in the bowl of a stand mixer), beat butter and sugar. This is similar to the original recipe that began the red velvet craze.
