  5. Bake for about 45 minutes, then keep in the warm oven for 10 more minutes. Once the cake has cooled down, sprinkle some more shredded coconut on top.

For topping stir together flour, sugars and salt. Cut in butter and stir in oats. Press together and top coffee cake with large crumbles. Remove from pan and place on a serving plate. Pour buttermilk glaze over cake while both are still warm.
