  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Greese the pans.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time and beat vigorously until each is incorporated. Mix in vanilla.

  5. Divide the butter among 3 pans and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes
  6. Cool in a cooling rack completly.
  7. To assemble, remove 1 cake from its pan and place it flat side down on a serving platter. Drop about 1 cup of icing onto the cake and using a flat spatula, spread evenly over the top of first layer. Use the remaining frosting to cover the top and sides of the cake.

Overall the cake was nothing special. However I am willing to try it again just to make sure it was not my own fault.
